BBE Architects: current work in progress

The practice has over 30 residential size projects in various stages of design, construction documentation and construction. The architecture varies dramatically between projects.  This is motivated by a marriage between the clients requirements, the architect and the site.  A few of these projects are presented here.

Brooklyn, Wellington

This house on a steeply sloping site with northerly  aspect, has been designed to optimise solar passive  gain and hot water heating. The central trapese space  is constructed using timber sections cleared from the  site and breathable walls regulate the internal spaces.

Owhiro Bay, Wellington

On a difficult west facing site with awesome south coast views this house has been designed to optimise solar passive gain.  150mm timber frame with high levels of insulation.

Central Lower Hutt

High thermal mass house using precast concrete panels, includes passive solar design, rain water harvesting and propsed grey water recycling.
